UNIVERSITY OF WAIKATO SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMETS:

  • New International Student: Be applying to enroll full-time in an undergraduate or postgraduate program at the University of Waikato as a new international student.
  • Offer of Place: Have received a conditional or unconditional offer of place from the University of Waikato. This includes offers for degree programs packaged with the Certificate of Attainment in English Language, Certificate of Attainment in Foundation Studies, Certificate of University Preparation, International Diploma (Business), International Diploma (Computer Science), or Diploma of Postgraduate Preparation (Pre-Masters).
  • Academic Merit: Have a minimum GPA equivalency of B+ in the qualification used to gain entrance to the University of Waikato.
  • Not Currently Enrolled: Not be currently enrolled at the University of Waikato in any undergraduate or postgraduate program and must not have paid fees at the time of application.
  • No Sponsorship: Not be coming to the University of Waikato via a sponsoring body.
  • No Guaranteed Credit Arrangement: Not be coming to the University of Waikato on a Guaranteed Credit Arrangement, or through a study abroad or student exchange agreement.

UNIVERSITY OF WAIKATO SCHOLARSHIP BENEFITS:

  • For Undergraduate Students:
    • One-year tenure: Scholarships between $2,500 and $8,000 applied to tuition fees in the first year.
    • Two-year tenure: Scholarships between $2,500 and $12,000, with no more than $8,000 in the first year and no more than $4,000 in the second year.
    • Three-year tenure: Scholarships between $2,500 and $15,000, with no more than $8,000 in the first year, no more than $4,000 in the second year, and no more than $3,000 in the third year.
  • For Postgraduate Students:
    • Scholarships between $2,500 and $15,000 applied to one or more years of postgraduate study.

HOW TO APPLY FOR UNIVERSITY OF WAIKATO SCHOLARSHIP:

  • Prepare Your Documents:
    • Obtain a conditional or unconditional offer of place from the University of Waikato.
    • Prepare a detailed explanation of why you want to study at the University of Waikato and how you will represent the university as a global ambassador.
  • Online Application:
    • Visit the official University of Waikato scholarship application page.
    • Complete the online application form.
  • Upload Documents:
    • Upload your conditional or unconditional offer of place from the University of Waikato.
    • Include all other required details in your application.
  • Review and Submit:
    • Double-check your application to ensure that all information is correct and complete.
    • Submit your application.
  • Await Decision:
    • Applications are reviewed within 8 to 12 weeks after submission.
    • Be aware that applications may not be considered if received within 4 weeks of the start of the university’s main trimesters (A, B, and C).
  • Notification:
    • If your application is successful, you will be notified, and the scholarship amount will be applied directly to your tuition fees.
